Skilled Nursing

The philosophy of caring is what Bivins Memorial is all about. The facility is a 24-hour-a-day Health Care Center (nursing facility) licensed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disabilities Services (DADS). The Health Care Center is under the direction of a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Physicians who visit the facility on a scheduled basis supervise each resident. Licensed nurses provide daily hands-on care along with other trained caregivers. The Health Care Centers' staff includes registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, certified nursing assistants, and full-time activity directors. Physicians, pharmaceutical, dietary and therapy consultants augment the staff. It is never forgotten that residents can become ill and need care. In addition, it is always remembered that nursing can be given with a caring attitude. There are no set times for visiting hours, and visitors are encouraged to come whenever they like.
